Photoduino is an open source camera controller based on the Arduino platform which you can use to automatically take pictures with your DSLR camera.
Its main purpose is to serve as technical support for shooting high speed photos, but you can use as intervalometer to make  ”Timelapse” videos or for animals or insects photography. Check the example photos.

Mariotte Siphon with solenoid valve for water drop photography

Mariotte’s bottle is a device that delivers a constant rate of flow from closed bottles (or tanks). We use it in water drop photography to keep the flow rate stable.
Mariotte bottle (also called "Mariotte siphon") is the best choice to use in water drop - splash photography because keeps the drop size same until liquid is to the lower level of the tube inside bottle.
The devise is designed especially for photography and includes a Mariotte bottle and a 12V solenoid valve.
Some parts, as you can see, designed and printed with 3D printer using ABS plastic. Not same finish like molded, but good quality and no problem with operation.
The bottle is big (200ml) and can release hundreds drops until needed to refill it.

This device can used in a place of any other which uses 12V for controlling solenoid.

Device is available for sale at this LINK.

Object Splash Water Photography Device / DropShot - Drop Box

Device can used in the place of any 12V solenoid valve for water drop photography

Designed for this specific use and it is very easy to operate it. The only needed is to solder it to the proper connector or terminal block on your drop controller.
Also, you need a lab retort (about 50cm high) which maybe you have it already (if you own a device for water drop photography) or a cheap engineer's vice to hold it.
If use a retort, then use the worm screw to tight device on the rob. Do not screw it more than needed to be stable and try be the worm screw to same angle-position like you see on photos.

The two doors at the bottom, have a line on it and when device is ready for use you can see a cross, which helps you center the object.

NOTICE: Device made using 3D printer. Not perfect shape, but good quality, enough to hold heavy objects, like a big tool battery. But do not try to test their limits. Not designed for very heavy objects.

  • Interface is hand assembled and fully tested prior shipment.
  • Connector, device, cable, etc, color can change.
  • If it is out of stock, please check again after some days. To be 3D printed and assembled, needed about 5 hours. In a case of many orders, time is not enough to replace the stock.
  •
If you do not own a device, you can buy a Photoduino controller. If you order the device and an assembled Photoduino controller or set, then you will pay only the shipping cost for photoduino. The shipping cost for this device, will be full refunded. To see available options of Photoduino use this LINK

Device is available for sale at this LINK.

Photoduino assembled PCB Arduino digital camera shield 3.0 **** Complete **** Time Lapse, Arduino shield, trigger audio, vibration, laser, etc

    Photoduino
is an open source camera controller based on the Arduino platform which you can use to automatically take pictures with your DSLR camera.
Its main purpose is to serve as technical support for shooting high speed photos, but you can use as intervalometer to make  ”Timelapse” videos or for animals or insects photography. Check the example photos.
It is an electronic circuit that is placed on an Arduino board as a “shield” taking all inputs, outputs and power pins. It has all the necessary electronic components and connectors for connecting the camera, flashes and sensors.
You can control the shutter and camera autofocus and also can triggering of two flashes. It also has a sound sensor, an shock/impact sensor and a laser or infrared barrier that can be used to take pictures when you register an event in the sensor. With the Solenoid Valve Interface you can generate droplets directly from Photoduino.

The configuration is done entirely through a small LCD screen using only two buttons, so it works independently without the need for a computer (except for firmware updates) but also, you can use the Photoduino Remote Software to wide control Photoduino from your computer.
Top and bottom cover is clear acrylic sheet, spacers are ABS 3D printed, which also protect acrylic at the corners.

    NOTICE:
    • I sell the main PCB (and solenoid valve circuit), assembled with Arduino UNO board.
    • Sensors, not included.
    • I use BT169D thyristors.
    • USB cable not included.
    • Arduino board USB connector is type "B", but in case of no availability, can be "micro USB".
    • I suggest you to use an "external power bank battery charger" to power the device. It lasts for long time, it is rechargeable and cheap.
PCB design modified by me, to be able use more common components, like speaker and contrast trimmer.
Also, changed pcb traces to include the solenoid control board.
For any help to build it and for needed components, you can find instructions to this Link to build it.
